Honesty works.

Not because it is good.

Not because it is right.

Not because it is correct.

Not because it is healthy.

Honesty works

Because it does not cause internal conflict.

Children embody this most viscerally.

They speak without the intermediary of thought.

For the source of their words

Need not go through a car wash

Do the well from which they arise

Is innocent, wise, and pure.

They have no need for intellect

For that only creates clunkiness.

When man is honest

He does not register anything in memory.

For why would he?

Such a man has no plan.

Of what use is it to swim against an incoming tide?

Of what use is it to swim to shore?

When you do not feel threatened by either?

Problems arise when man strategizes.

For this leads to a self-conflict.

That the society

And its cadre of experts

Will never understand.

Understand this:

Dishonesty is effortful.

He who’s had enough will investigate

The chaos that ensues on account of dishonesty.

He will see the devastation

That it has brought to his life.

He’s had enough.

And in that quiet examination…

He will have transcended into a childlike state.

A childlike state no longer in control.

And one in which all that arises

Is beyond any sense of identity.
